Before Coffee Gets Cold

Greetings, fellow adventurers and coffee aficionados!

As the proud owner of Fin + Field Coffee, I am thrilled to embark on this journey with you – a journey that celebrates not only the thrill of the outdoors but also the rich, nuanced flavors of exceptional coffee.

In my travels across lands near and far, I've had the privilege of tasting some of the world's finest coffees. Each cup tells a story of its origin, meticulously nurtured from bean to brew, capturing the essence of its terroir and the craftsmanship of those who cultivate it. These experiences have shaped my belief that one of the keys to unlocking the true potential of coffee lies in something surprisingly simple: temperature.

In today's fast-paced world, it's all too easy to rush through the morning routine, hastily adding cream or milk to scalding hot coffee in a bid to make it instantly drinkable. Yet, this hurried approach often masks the intricate flavors and delicate aromas that skilled roasters work tirelessly to extract from each batch of beans.

Here's where I invite you to join me in a small yet transformative practice: the art of patience. Picture this – pouring your freshly brewed coffee into a ceramic coffee cup and then waiting. Not for just a few seconds, but for a minimum of 4 minutes. This brief pause allows the coffee to cool naturally, unveiling a symphony of flavors that might otherwise go unnoticed in the rush of the morning.

Imagine savoring your first sip and discovering subtle notes of chocolate, a hint of caramel, or a whisper of citrus dancing on your palate – flavors meticulously coaxed out by our dedicated roasters. This mindful approach not only enhances your coffee-drinking experience but also deepens your connection to the natural world around you.

At Fin and Field Coffee, we are more than just purveyors of coffee; we are storytellers, weaving tales of adventure and discovery with every batch we roast. Our commitment to quality extends beyond the bean – it's a commitment to delivering moments of pure delight, whether you're casting a line at sunrise or setting off on a woodland trek.

So, let me leave you with this challenge: embrace the tranquility of waiting, relish the anticipation, and allow yourself to be transported by the nuanced flavors that emerge as your coffee cools. Let each cup of Fin and Field Coffee be a testament to your passion for both the great outdoors and the artistry of a perfectly brewed cup.

Here's to slowing down, savoring the journey, and celebrating the beauty of nature, one sip at a time.

Warm regards,

Brent Kennedy
